Danee Voss is awarded the 2017 Feldman Lady Laker Basketball Scholarship! Every year, SW alum Harvey Feldman awards a $20,000 ($5,000 per year for 4 years)* college scholarship to a Lady Laker basketball player. This is the largest scholarship awarded at SW and basketball is the only girls sport which qualifies. Mr. Feldman's criteria includes most improved, loyalty to the program, attitude, work ethic, leadership and support of teammates. It doesn't necessarily go to the team's best player; rather one who has demonstrated these other qualities. Past winners include Kali Place '13, Averi Turner '14, Samantha Ward '15, and Sophie Tonander '16. *The Feldman Scholarship Foundation reserves the right to determine each year whether the $5000 scholarship payment will be made, based on numerous factors, including the adequacy of the student's progress towards a degree and responsiveness to requests for information.
